2024: Was für ein großartiges Jahr es doch war!

A year of growing and Growing Sustainability Awareness
at Hortus Supplies International
As we reach the end of 2024, it’s the perfect time to reflect on what has been an incredible year for Hortus Supplies International. This past year has been one of progress, meaningful milestones, and new beginnings. With pride and gratitude, we share some of the highlights of the past 12 months:

Global presence: Hortus Supplies in the spotlight
This year, we traveled to exhibitions around the world, where we had the privilege of meeting growers, partners, and innovators face-to-face. Perhaps we met you in Ft. Lauderdale, at GreenTech Americas, in Ohio, at Grower Day in Canada, in Naivasha, Kenya, or maybe at Niagara-on-the-Lake.

A particularly proud moment was our first participation at GreenTech Amsterdam, where we connected with new customers from across the globe. It was an incredibly successful debut, and we can’t wait to attend again in June 2025.

These global events have strengthened our relationships and reminded us why we’re passionate about helping growers thrive. We are also deeply grateful for the warm welcomes we received from customers worldwide, who invited us to visit them personally and tour their farms. Seeing firsthand how our products make a real difference – helping crops grow and flourish – is the best  rewarding part of what we do.

Stepping towards a greener future
Sustainability and a better future for all are close to our hearts, and in 2024, we took a significant leap forward. With the installation of 134 solar panels at our headquarters in Aalsmeer, we are now able to power our entire office and warehouse with clean, green energy. Additionally, we can charge our hybrid and electric vehicles using solar power. Let the sun shine! This is a step we’re proud of. One that moves us closer to a better future and helps reduce our carbon footprint. In 2025, we will have our carbon footprint calculated to enable us to focus even more on reducing it.

Supporting people and charities worldwide
Giving back to communities is a value we want to keep up. “Sharing because we care, growing together everywhere” is the motto that inspires us.  This year, we proudly supported various charities and sports clubs, both locally and globally. From funding important initiatives to cheering on local teams, we’re committed to making a difference where it counts.
One of the great initatives was the Charity Walk from Dalat Hasfarm, Vietnam.

Exciting expansion in Latin America
In 2024, we hit some important milestones in Latin America.
On the international front, the Hortus Supplies team grew with subsidiaries  in the region:

• Hortus Supplies Mexico. We have begun the process to start registering fertilizers and chelates for 2025. We already have multiple customers in Mexico and we are ready to expend our services and make it easier for customers to purchase our products, such as the Hortus Chelates.
• Hortus Supplies Ecuador. We have completed Hortus Chelate registrations and are preparing to stock our chelates in the warehouse. By the beginning of 2025, we will have the following products available: Hortus EDDHA 6%, Hortus EDTA-Cu, Hortus EDTA-Fe, Hortus EDTA-Mnund Hortus EDTA-Zn.
• Hortus Supplies Colombia. As we just started our subsidiary in Colombia, we are now preparing the options to offer our products to even more growers in the coming years. Making it easier to purchase, shorten delivery times and to reduce costs for all local clients in Columbia.

With these three offices we will be able to provide our customers with our own Hortus Chelate products and services. Beside that of course we will keep searching for the best products to help growers to succeed in their processes.

Registration of Natural Products
Last month, our Supramino was officially added to the Dutch Input List (FiBL), a recognition that underscores its value for sustainable and organic farming. This amino acid product is helping your crops strengthen in many ways.

Celebrating 20 years of Hortus Supplies International
Looking back, it has been a remarkable journey over the past year. And now, we’re celebrating 20 years of Hortus Supplies International. In January 2025, we’ll officially mark our 20th anniversary. It’s been a great journey, with many highs and a few deep lows. It is also a time to look forward with excitement and energy for the future. This milestone is a moment for gratitude –  for the trust of our customers, the dedication of our team, and the partnerships we’ve built over the years.
