Hortus starts by supporting a Spinning Event for Cancer Research.

Wie jarig is trakeert – who’s celebrating threats! At Hortus Supplies International,  we decided to celebrate our 20th anniversaryin a different way. Inspired by the Dutch saying : “Wie jarig is trakteert,” we have decided to support a different charity every month. This initiative is our way of saying thank you for all the support we have received over the years and of spreading a little extra kindness around the world.

We are asking our customers, suppliers and relations to suggest a charity or good cause that is close to their heart so we can support a different cause each month with a donation of € 500.-

February: Spinning for cancer research

For February, we’ve decided to support a special Spinning Event, organized by one of our suppliers. On Valentine’s Day 2025, H.O. Van Krimpen is organizing an inspiring spinning event from the heart. This is not just a fun evening of cycling, it’s an event with a purpose. All funds raised during the event will go to The Ronald Moerings Foundation, which raises funds within the horticultural sector exclusively for the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Foundation. The Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Foundationis dedicated to advancing cancer research and providing top-quality patient care at the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital. Many of us have been touched by the impact of cancer in our families and friends, and supporting this foundation is our way of contributing to cancer research and patient care.

We warmly invite you to join in and contribute to this noble cause. Whether you decide to donate  in the spinning event or simply spread the word, every bit of support helps make a difference. And here’s a little exciting news: we will be handing over the cheque to the foundation next week.
